Greetings from the farm! We have enjoyed a brief interlude this winter- and seeding has now been well on it's way since mid January. 2025 was a wonderful season filled with lush farmstand bouquets, flower club, workshops, beautiful weddings, and working more and more to provide our local florists with top notch quality flowers! In spring of 2025 we added a 60ft unheated greenhouse to extend our season. We enjoyed flowers right until November- and now our ranunculus are growing along nicely. We hope this gives us an early jump on flowers this spring with ranunculus, snapdragons, stock, delphinium and assorted greenery. We continue to expand our dahlia and peony offerings- and can't wait for all the beauty that 2026...
We are excited to be back into flowers here on the farm! We've officially had the farmstand stocked with flowers two weekends in a row, and our Spring Subscriptions will start later this week. We enjoyed a relatively mild winter, filled with lots of learning for our home educated kiddos, film making, sports, keeping up with the animals (not always easy after a low yield of hay) and some down time here and there over the colder months. In March we welcomed a new baby calf to the farm- a little bull calf named Hershey. Our jersey cow Beatrice, did beautifully with calving and now we are enjoying the liquid gold of the family milk cow. Spring looks a lot like...
Spring is trying desperately to stick around, but the temperatures have been consistently chilly. The start of our Spring Subscriptions will be a little bit later than usual this year, by about a week. But the flowers are happy and chugging along. We have now had flowers at the farm stand for 2 weekends in a row, with Easter weekend being the start to the flower season! We have the farm stand stocked on Sundays from 10-6pm with eggs, coffee and flowers. I am excited to say that Mother's Day pre-orders for arrangements and mixed bouquets are now open. It’s hard to believe that it’s already mid February. Our first plantings of 2023 went into the ground a few weeks ago. Several hundred healthy ranunculus corms were presprouted and planted out under a layer of compost, leaf mulch and frost cloth.
